Western Governors University's competency-based Master of Business
Administration is specifically designed for experienced business
professionals and managers seeking upward career mobility. The program
prepares you for a mid-level to upper-level management position
in business, industry, and non-profit organizations. WGU's challenging
MBA program is for individuals who already possess "real world"
experience and seek in-depth knowledge in management and strategy.
Business professionals with existing competencies can use knowledge
they already possess to accelerate the time to completion. Elements
of the program are designed to incorporate real issues at your current
employment.
Requirements
Applicants must have an accredited Bachelor's degree.
As the nation's only online, competency-based university, WGU focuses
on developing a highly competent graduate, not just someone who
has accumulated credit hours. In fact, WGU does not award degrees
based on credit hours or required courses. Your progress is determined
by your ability to pass rigorous assessmentstypically test,
projects and a portfoliothat measure your knowledge and skills
as you move through your degree program.
Accreditation
Western Governors University is the only university to have received
simultaneous accreditation by four regional accrediting commissions.
Currently, WGU's "home" accrediting commission is the
Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, the same organization
that accredits such leading institutions as the University of Washington,
University of Oregon, University of Utah, BYU, and other public
and private colleges. WGU is also nationally accredited by the Distance
Education and Training Council (DETC).
